10.7Gbps EAM DRIVER WITH INTEGRATED MODULATION AND BIASING FUNCTIONS
SUNNYVALE, CA-February 17, 2003-Maxim Integrated Products
(NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX3940 electro-absorption modulator (EAM) driver. Operating from a single -5.2V or +5.0V supply, the MAX3940 consumes only 122mA of current. The MAX3940 has a 23ps edge speed with a programmable modulation voltage up to 3V and programmable bias voltage up to 1.25V into 50 . It also has a polarity control to ensure an easy interface to any serializer and operates with a selectable retiming latch to minimize jitter accumulations in the transmit path. To reduce external component count, the MAX3940 integrates 50 termination at the input and 50 of back termination at the output.
The MAX3940 is designed for SONET OC192/SDH STM64 systems, metro, long haul, point-to-point, and DWDM applications. This device operates from -40°C to +85°C. Prices start at $79.00 (1000-up, FOB USA).
