LVECL/LVPECL LOW-SKEW CLOCK DRIVERS AND REPEATERS FROM MAXIM

SUNNYVALE, CA-November 27, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX9323/MAX9324 low-skew 1:4 and 1:5 clock drivers/repeaters designed for clock and data distribution in central office switches, networking switches, hubs and routers, and SONET/SDH communication applications where low pin-to-pin skew and precision signal and clock distribution are critical.

The MAX9323 is a 1:4 LVCMOS-to-LVPECL clock driver that is pin compatible with the ICS8535-01 and has a 25mA maximum supply current (vs. 50mA for the ICS8535-01). The MAX9325 is a 1:5 LVPECL/LVCMOS clock driver with four LVPECL outputs and one CMOS output. Both devices have ultra-low added random jitter of 3.0ps (RMS) (max), making them ideal for data and clock distribution in jitter-sensitive systems.

The MAX9323/MAX9324 are specified for a minimum switching frequency of 266MHz and operate from a single 3.3V supply (±10%) over the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Offered in both 20-pin TSSOP and space-saving QFN (4mm x 4mm) packages, the MAX9323/MAX9324 QFN offers a 65% reduction in the footprint. Refer to the MAX9323 and MAX9324 data sheets for the package outline.

Prices start at $5.24 (1000-up, FOB USA).
