MAXIM'S LOW-POWER VOLTAGE REFERENCE IN SOT23 REPLACES INDUSTRY-STANDARD REF02 AND REF43


SUNNYVALE, CA-November 18, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX6035, a new SOT23 voltage reference that is five times smaller than comparable devices in an 8-pin SO. This precision reference is an ideal replacement for industry-standard references like the REF02 or REF43, offering 4.5 times lower power than REF43 and 14 times lower power than REF02.

The MAX6035 uses less than 95µA of supply current and operates with up to a 40V supply. The MAX6035's wide supply range, small footprint, and low power make this device ideal for applications where high voltages, board space, and power are at a premium. Applications include power-supply monitoring in notebook computers, portable instrumentation, and industrial transmitters.

Other features of the MAX6035 are a low 20ppm/°C (max) temperature coefficient, 0.2% (max) initial accuracy, 10mA source-current capability, and guaranteed operation over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range. The MAX6035 is available with output voltages of 2.5V, 3V, and 5V. Prices start at $1.28 (1000-up, B grade, FOB USA).
