MAXIM'S µP SUPERVISORS ELIMINATE UNWANTED RESET CONDITIONS IN FRONT-PANEL APPLICATIONS
SUNNYVALE, CA-November 21, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX6443-MAX6452 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits with long manual-reset setup periods. These single- (MAX6443-MAX6448) and dual-voltage (MAX6449-MAX6452) µP supervisors eliminate unwanted reset conditions in front-panel display and set-top-box applications. These devices monitor 1.8V to 5V supply rails and nine factory-fixed thresholds are available.
Whenever a monitored voltage falls below its reset threshold, the reset output asserts. It stays asserted for at least the minimum reset timeout (140ms) after VCC rises above its reset threshold. An adjustable-reset input allows a second voltage to be monitored down to 0.63V (MAX6449-MAX6452).
The MAX6443-MAX6452 feature an edge-triggered, one-shot manual-reset input and are offered with either an extended manual-reset setup period or a normal manual-reset input operation. For devices featuring an extended-reset setup period, the manual-reset input(s) must be held for 5s to assert a reset. For
devices with normal operation, reset asserts immediately on the falling edge. For all devices, once reset is asserted manually, the reset output deasserts after the reset timeout period regardless of the state of the manual reset input.
The MAX6443/MAX6444 are offered with a single manual-reset input with an extended setup period. The MAX6445/MAX6446/MAX6449/MAX6450 are offered with dual manual-reset inputs with extended setup periods. The MAX6447/MAX6448/MAX6451/MAX6452 have one normal manual-reset input and one manual-reset input with an extended setup period.
Active-low, push-pull and active-low, open-drain reset outputs are available. These devices are offered in SOT143 and SOT23 packages, and are fully specified from -40°C to +85°C. Prices start at $0.99 (2,500- or 10,000-piece minimum, FOB USA).
