LOWEST PULSE SKEW, FOUR-PORT, LVDS/LVTTL-TO-LVDS REPEATERS FROM MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS
SUNNYVALE, CA-November 22, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products(NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the newest members of the Maxim LVDS family-the MAX9169/MAX9170 four-port LVDS/LVTTL-to-LVDS repeaters. The MAX9169 accepts an LVDS input signal and repeats it at four LVDS outputs. The MAX9170 accepts an LVTTL input signal and translates it to four LVDS outputs. Both devices conform to the ANSI TIA/EIA-644 standard, making them ideal for minimizing power, EMI, and bit-error rates in the next-generation clock/data distribution networks of cell phone base stations, central office switches, hubs, networking switches/routers, DSLAMs, and other communications equipment.
The MAX9169/MAX9170 are pin-compatible upgrades to SN65LVDS104 and SN65LVDS105 with greater than 15% improvement in power dissipation and more than 70% improvement in pulse skew: 150ps maximum pulse skew for the MAX9169/MAX9170 vs. 500ps for the competition. Both devices operate with a single 3.3V (±10%) supply over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
The MAX9169/MAX9170 are offered in 16-pin SO and TSSOP packages. Refer to the MAX9130 data sheet for an LVDS receiver in an SC70 package. Prices start at $2.10 (1000-up, FOB USA).
