MAXIM INTEGRATED PRODUCTS OFFERS 1.5GHz DUAL ECL/PECL 2:1 MULTIPLEXER WITH EXTREMELY LOW PROPAGATION DELAY
SUNNYVALE, CA-September 10, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX9384, a dual, low-skew, fully differential LVPECL/PECL/LVECL/ECL 2:1 multiplexer. As the latest member of Maxim's high-speed LVECL/LVPECL multiplexer family, the MAX9384 is designed for clock and data redundancy and multiplexing circuits. Applications include mass storage servers, DSLAMs, base stations, automatic test equipment, central-office switches, networking switches and routers, and miscellaneous communication applications where low jitter (0.8ps RMS (max), added random jitter, and 70psP-P deterministic jitter (at 1Gbps PRBS pattern) are critical for signal integrity.
The MAX9384 dual 2:1 muxes can be selected individually or simultaneously. The input mux allows selection of one of the differential LVPECL or LVECL inputs signals and repeats it at the output.
The MAX9384 operates with a wide supply range from 3V to 5.5V in PECL (5V) or LVPECL (3V) systems, and -3V to -5.5V in LVECL (-3V) and ECL (-5V) systems. Differential output is specified at >300mV at 1.5GHz minimum switching frequency, for the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). The MAX9384 is available in a 20-pin SO package and is a pin-compatible upgrade to the MC100LVEL56 and MC100EL56.
Refer to the MAX9384 data sheet for package information. Prices start at $7.89 (1000-up, FOB USA).
