LOWEST POWER 3GHz LVECL/LVPECL SPLITTERS

SUNNYVALE, CA-February 6, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX9320/MAX9320A/MAX9320B, the fastest and smallest members of the Maxim 3GHz LVECL/LVPECL family. The LVECL/LVPECL splitters are ideal for clock and data distribution in automatic test equipment, central office switches, networking switches and routers, and SONET/SDH communication applications where precision signal and clock distribution is critical.

The MAX9320/MAX9320B are pin compatible with the MC100LVEP11 and MC100EL11. The MAX9320/MAX9320A are designed to operate with a wide supply range from 2.25V to 3.8V in PECL systems and -2.25V to -3.8V in ECL systems. The MAX9320B is designed for 3V to 5.5V operations in PECL systems and -3V to -5V in ECL systems. Differential output voltage is specified greater than 300mV at 3GHz over the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). The maximum supply current is 28mA, a 20% improvement over the competition. The MAX9321/MAX9321A are available in 8-pin SO, µMAX, and SOT23 packages. The MAX9320B is offered only in an 8-pin SO package. The thermally enhanced 8-pin SOT23 package offers a 70% size reduction over the industry-standard SO.
