LOW-POWER µP RESET CIRCUITS IN A SMALL SOT PACKAGE

SUNNYVALE, CA-March 2, 2001-Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6800-MAX6805 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits. Designed to monitor supply rails from +2.85V to +5V systems, these small, low-power µP reset ICs require no external components and consume only 4µA of quiescent current, making them suitable for portable applications and require no external components.

Whenever VCC falls below its reset threshold, the reset output asserts and remains asserted for the minimum reset timeout period after VCC rises above its reset threshold. Reset thresholds from +2.63V to +4.80V are available in approximately 100mV increments. Each device is available with three minimum reset timeout period options of 1ms, 20ms, or 100ms.

The MAX6800/MAX6803 have a push-pull, active-high reset output, the MAX6801/MAX6804 have a push-pull, active-low reset output, and the MAX6802/MAX6805 have an open-drain, active-low reset output. The MAX6803/MAX6804/MAX6805 also include a manual reset input feature.

These devices are specified from -40°C to +125°C, making them suitable for high-temperature applications such as automotive equipment, appliances, or industrial equipment. The MAX6800/MAX6801/MAX6802 are available in a 3-pin SOT23 package and are pin-compatible with the industry-standard MAX809/MAX810. The MAX6803/MAX6804/MAX6805 are available in a 4-pin SOT143 package and are pin-compatible with the MAX811/MAX812. Prices start at $0.99 (2500 or 10,000 minimum, FOB USA).
