INDUSTRY-STANDARD SUPERVISORY CIRCUITS WITH WATCHDOG INPUT, MANUAL RESET, AND COMPLEMENTARY RESET OUTPUT FEATURES NOW AVAILABLE IN MINIATURE SC70 PACKAGE
Note To Editors: The MAX823/MAX824/MAX825 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits are the first fully integrated, active-low, push-pull reset ICs with watchdog input (MAX823/MAX824), manual reset (MAX823/MAX825), and an additional active-high, push-pull reset output (MAX824/MAX825) available in the SC70 package, which is half the size of the SOT package. Two new reset thresholds of 2.19V and 2.32V are available for monitoring +2.5V systems. These SC70 devices are functionally equivalent to the MAX823/MAX824/MAX825 devices, but consume 30% less power then the SOT devices (2µA, MAX825), making them ideal for portable equipment.
SUNNYVALE, CA—October 5, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX823/MAX824/MAX825 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits in the SC70 package, using only half the board space of the SOT package. Designed to monitor +2.5V to +5.0V systems, these miniature devices reduce cost while eliminating the need for external components and adjustments.
All three devices offer an active-low, push-pull reset output while the MAX824/MAX825 also provides an active-high, push-pull complementary output. Additional options include a manual reset input (MAX823/MAX825) and a watchdog input (MAX823/MAX824).
The MAX823/MAX824/MAX825 feature seven preset thresholds of 4.63V, 4.38V, 3.08V, 2.93V, 2.63V, 2.32V, and 2.19V with 2.5% accuracy over temperature. Whenever the supply voltage falls below the specified threshold, a reset signal is asserted and maintained for at least 140ms after VCC returns above the reset threshold. These SC70 devices consume approximately 39% less power than the SOT devices (2µA, MAX825). The low supply current and miniature package make these devices ideal for portable equipment.
The MAX823/MAX824/MAX825 are available in 5-pin SC70 packages. Prices start from $1.25 (2500 piece minimum, FOB USA).
