0.5% SOT23 SERIES REFERENCES OFFERED AT SHUNT REFERENCE PRICES
SUNNYVALE, CA—February 28, 2000—Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX6101MAX6105 family of low-cost low-dropout low-power series-mode voltage references. Available in 3-pin SOT23 packages, the devices are intended for cost-sensitive portable power systems requiring precision and small size. Proprietary curvature-correction circuits and laser-trimmed thin-film resistors provide 0.4% initial accuracy along with a 75ppm/°C temperature coefficient over the extended operating temperature (-40°C to +85°C).
These series-mode voltage references draw only 150µA of supply current and can source 5mA and sink 2mA of load current. Unlike conventional shunt-mode (two-terminal) references, they offer a supply current that is virtually independent of supply voltage and they require no external resistor. Furthermore, these internally compensated devices do not require an external capacitor and are stable at up to 1µF of load capacitance.
These voltage references operate with an input voltage range from (VOUT + 200mV) to 12.6V and are available with voltage options of 1.25V, 2.5V, 3V, 4.096V, and 5V. Prices start from $0.55 (1000-up, FOB USA).
