HFRD-20.2: 1310nm XFP Uncooled EML Transceiver

Abstract: High Frequency Reference Design (HFRD) 20.2 is a fully functional 1310nm EML transceiver targeted for the XFP multi-source agreement (MSA). The design showcases the Maxim MAX3991 clock/data recovery IC with integrated limiting amplifier, the MAX3992 transmit data retimer with equalizer, the MAX3941 EML driver and the Dallas DS1862 XFP Laser control/digital diagnostic IC. Numerous other Maxim ICs are also included in the design. Data rates ranging from 9.95 to 10.7Gbps are supported in this reference design.
